The Spectroa Thesis

Dr. Elena Rostova
Chief Optical Engineer

For decades, obtaining lab-grade spectral data meant bringing the sample to the lab, compromising on either speed or sample integrity. We rejected the premise that high-resolution optics necessitate bulky desktop footprints.

By rethinking the optical bench architecture—specifically employing symmetric crossed Czerny-Turner designs paired with ultra-low thermal expansion materials—we have minimized spherical aberration and coma without expanding the physical path length.

The result is a class of instruments that deliver sub-nanometer resolution in a form factor small enough to integrate directly into manufacturing lines or field diagnostic kits.

Precision in Every Component

We don't off-the-shelf our critical path. From the entrance slit to the focal plane, every element is specified and verified in-house.

01.

Photolithographic Slits

Etched in stainless steel with 1μm tolerance, defining exact optical resolution and throughput.

02.

Toroidal Mirrors

Correcting for astigmatism inherent in short focal length systems, keeping focal planes perfectly flat.

03.

Holographic Gratings

Blazed for specific UV, VIS, or NIR regions to maximize efficiency and virtually eliminate ghosting.

04.

TE-Cooled Arrays

Suppressing dark noise by operating detectors at -15°C relative to ambient for long integration times.

Uncompromising Signal Integrity

A spectrometer is only as good as its stray light rejection. Our proprietary light baffles and blazed holographic gratings achieve stray light levels typically reserved for double-monochromator setups.

Stray Light (at 435nm) < 0.05%
Signal to Noise Ratio 450:1 (Full Signal)
Dark Noise 3.2 RMS counts

Process Analytical Technology (PAT)

Integrating inline spectroscopy directly into chemical synthesis flows reduces sampling delay to zero. Our OEM modules are designed for direct flange mounting, featuring robust SMA 905 fiber connectors and vibration-damped optical benches.

Rigorous Calibration Methodology

Every spectrometer undergoes a 48-hour thermal cycling procedure before calibration against Hg-Ar and Ne emission lines. We guarantee wavelength accuracy within 0.1nm across the specified operating temperature range.

Frequently Asked Engineering Questions

No. To maintain strict optical alignment and prevent the introduction of dust into the hermetically sealed optical bench, the slit is permanently affixed during manufacturing. If you require varying resolution, we suggest configuring multiple dedicated benches.
Our standard SR-Series benches exhibit a wavelength drift of <0.05 pixels/°C. For extreme environments, our SN-Series Invar benches reduce this to <0.01 pixels/°C.
Yes. We provide native C++ and Python SDKs compiled for x86_64 and ARMv8 (aarch64), enabling direct integration with single-board computers like the Raspberry Pi 4 or NVIDIA Jetson for embedded edge-computing applications.
